I have two USB-to-serial 9-pin adapter cables. They both work fine on the 1500 and also on three Direct logic plcs. I appreciate your input. I have one more idea. Somewhere I have a 1784 PKTXD Communications card. I have to do a lot of digging and I hope I still have it and it works.

What do you mean by OEM? I only know that as original equipment manufacturer.

The price of the 1784-U2DHP is cost prohibited. I can buy two brand new CPUs for the price of one of those. If you have one to lend me I'd be more than happy to borrow it. LOL

I'm trying to establish Communications to clear the fault . I can't establish Communications. I've tried the auto configuration several times with no luck.

I don't know what you mean by automate or Del. One of the CPUs had the DH plus connector with the terminating resistor and that was it. I don't have the program for either of the CPUs. Thank you for your reply.
