Hey Mark, I had an unanticipated success with this. I happened to have some XBee Pro radios with RS485 shields in another department's junk drawer. Just for kicks, I replaced the hardwired connection between the PLC and this drive with a radio pair and have full communication. So it's not a timing ...

I have been using the Micro800 family for quite some time for Modbus control of various VFDs, and have even done some remote control of other slaved Micro 800s. Confidence in my ability to execute this kind of stuff has been good up until now. I currently have a VFD from a new vendor that will respond ...

Thanks Fuzzy. Well at least they know about it; sucks that they're going to let it ride until 8.###. Looks like I've got some work to do. ------------------------------ Mark Toy ------------------------------

Hey all, Haven't posted here in a while; been smooth sailing mostly, until yesterday. I downloaded and installed CCW 20.01. It came with new firmware for the PV800: 7.011. I updated the panel and it pooped on several of my custom icons - It changes anything yellow to blue! Yes.. like using a really ...

A little late to the party but I'll comment anyway. I have an application that's been in service for a few years, that can control 32 nodes (VFDs) on a single SERIALISOL card with RS485 cable strung out to >3000'. I can hit all 32 nodes with a round robin time of less than 5 seconds. This was not without ...

Hey, This is one of those things that I meant to implement on our systems, as we do the same thing. No real field support; problems result in shipping a whole PLC with modules (fortunately very rare). Lucky for us, there's an instruction block for that. "SYS_INFO" when enabled, spits out ...

I run TightVNC Viewer and connect to the panel to do my screen grabs. To my knowledge, there's no reasonable means of doing HMI simulation in CCW. https://www.tightvnc.com/download.php ##HL41

I use a Panelview 800 7" and a Micro850 talking to each other with no switch/router. You MUST USE a crossover cable between the HMI and PLC; they won't auto-negotiate. Other settings of note for the PV800 in the Communication Settings: - Protocol I'm using is Ethernet / Allen-Bradley ...

Be Advised: 1) If you disable DHCP on the PV800 and have a valid static IP address set, the email feature will not work. The panel must be in DHCP mode. I really have no idea why this would matter, but it's repeatable. (Having FTP server enabled/disabled doesn't matter; having the VNC ...

For 4-20mA or 0-20mA, you're having to write the raw value to the Analog Output Channel, where 0=0mA, and 65535=20mA. Knowing this, you can simply use a SCALAR instruction block to give you a meaningful display value. ##HL65

You are correct; it is not possible to scale the pens independently on the PV800. To overcome this, I have on occasion divided the real number or integer value by 10 in the PLC, displayed the result on the PV800 log. On the trend page legend, note the 'x10' or '/10' for that specific pen. ...

Summary: Panelview 800 Email settings Hello all, I'm trying to set up the panelview 800 to email a trendlog using the latest 5.011 FW. I've had zero luck, using TLS, STARTTLS, smtp.gmail.com, mail.google.com, port 467, 587. I've also tried a yahoo account that I dragged out of retirement. Getting ...

You didn't say what device you're using, but my preferred method is to set up the VNC server on my Panelview 800, then connected to it from PC with TightVNC viewer. Then I've got real-time screens that I can grab with Snipping Tool that's built into windows. CTRL+ALT+PrintScreen works too. ##HL41

Michael, Those drives are FAT32 (out of box config). I have spoken with an RA rep and he had a few suggestions: a) Write in some logic to cycle the record function at a reasonable interval; basically depresses and represses the record button/tag in case it locks up for whatever reason ...

Summary: USB functionality is questionable I just cracked a new PV800 out of the box and powered up. It's running the latest FW 4.014 and OS 4.014. When I program these things, I typically will drop my *.cha file onto a USB thumb drive, and copy the program from USB to Internal memory. Easy ...

I have an application that uses those same part numbers; 2711R-T7T and the LC50-24QWB. I'm assuming that you've verified that the static IP address set on the PLC is 192.168.1.10. If so, then you could eliminate the router from the equation all together, and just connect the PV800 to the PLC directly ...

I've been reluctant to do that since my need for support is few and far between; I've submitted a request for quotation. ##HL41

Following up: Looking back through my version histories, I'm becoming more and more confident that this failure is directly related to FW 4.0##.. I've got builds with the new data logging variables running on FW 3.011 that do not experience this issue. Time to roll some panels back. There's a newer FW ...
