This is correct. Think of the "x" as a wildcard, like a * when you're searching for a file on your PC. It's saying that those characters in the catalog number don't matter for the AOP. -------------------------------------------

The only Micro 800s we have in service are a few 2080-LC20-20QBBs, which are still current products. They're not available in FT Design Workbench. Will they be in the future? -------------------------------------------

Interesting.....the programming manual identifies fault 49 as simply a powerup marker, like Ryan Murphy said. But....here's a tech note (access level everyone): https://support.rockwellautomation.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/638971/loc/en_US That tech note says it's a blown line fuse. Is this ...

I haven't downloaded it yet, but my understanding is that FTDW is more an evolution of CCW instead of a Logix environment. I could be wrong about that, though. -------------------------------------------

That's a good first thing to try. If it turns crazy on you, though, you could try a couple of intermediate conversions. Do you have v20? If so, open the file and go to the controller properties. Click "Change Controller" and select a lower-firmware L71 instead of going straight to an L81. Fix any compile ...

Hmmm...interesting. MQTT is beyond my experience, but I'm not aware of any way for a PLC to reboot itself. I have Micro8xx available for testing, but I've been out in the plant all week and can't really experiment with it. A quick look in CCW didn't turn up any way to do it, though. ---------------- ...

Just out of curiosity, what problem are you solving with a remote reboot? -------------------------------------------

I would stick with the recommended contactor that matches the drive. There are often safety margins built into these recommendations for things like inrush and fault current. The drive size matters, not just the actual load on it. Also, unless your servo motor is very small, it's very possible that your ...

As an experiment, I would be tempted to try an explicit message. See 520COM-UM001, the section on Explicit Messaging. On page 73 it talks about how to write a single parameter. -------------------------------------------

How are you sending the frequency? First thing I'd do is check parameters P043 [Minimum Freq] and P044 [Maximum Freq]. Then, check the parameters in the terminal block group (t062 - t066) and see if any are set to 7 "Preset Freq". If an input is set to preset freq and that input is on, that will ...

Exactly. You should be able to create a duplicate tag of the same type and name with a suffix or something but of standard class. And have the PlantPAX (or other SCADA system) look at the copy tag. -------------------------------------------

The standard task can READ safety tags but not write them. You should be able to just COPy or MOVe the safety tags to standard tags within the standard task. -------------------------------------------

Another big consideration is your customer's software setup. If they're using v12 (for example, like we are here), then I strongly recommend you install v12 as well. Which almost certainly means going to virtual machines so you can have multiple versions installed at the same time. Conversion tools, ...

I haven't done a lot of testing with v14 yet, but you should be able to create runtime files with lower firmware versions. As a quick test, I fired up my v14 virtual machine and opened an existing project. When I went to "Application -> Create Runtime Application...", it allowed me to select back to ...

Take a look at the quick start manual: https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/qs/750-qs001_-en-p.pdf Page 37 looks like it starts a factory default reset procedure. -------------------------------------------

In my experience, the terminal block inputs can override each other, sometimes in surprising ways. If you want the "H" signal to control, then pass the "A" signal through the other side of the HOA switch so it doesn't get to the drive at all. That will also make sure the drive stays off when the switch ...

Can you add the IPC to the PLC's IO configuration, even as a Generic Ethernet Module? It may be possible to get the communication status from that structure, especially if you choose a Comm Format that includes Status.
