A follow up, if the Stratix switches are stacked one connected to the other and the last one connected to the first (ring at switch level). Would the 2 ports in each switch need to be configured if only devices are connected to the switches? Or is it recommended to set up both ports to Switch for Automation ...

I understand the DLR functionality these switches support but I can't find documentation on the ring topology between the switches. How would the ports be configured. Without a Statix switch. I'm unable to play around the user interface, so I'm hoping to find some documentation for this.
