Harsch, I haven't seen that issue. Maybe there is something with your specific monitor resolution and Windows scaling factor setting? Have you tried running this through tech support? That would be the first step to see if we can find an answer. Regards, ------------------------------ Keith Hogan ...

E_D, Could you check if your numeric inputs have an initial value defined in View Designer? In other words, they look like this: If so, try putting in a numeric value for the initial value and see if that helps. Like so: Regards, ------------------------------ Keith Hogan View 5000 Software ...

Jeff, Have you reported this to tech support? We would like to understand what is happening, and that would be the first step. What other software are you running on that computer? We have seen one other instance of what you are describing with another customer, but after a long investigation, we ...

Harsch, There is no way to bind the TimeSpan property on the trend. Note that the TimeSpan property just designates how quickly the trend will display real-time data from the tags bound in the trace configurations. Historical data from those tags captured in data logs will display at whatever sample ...

Here is a not particularly difficult, but definitely weird control loop I implemented years ago. The customer had an eddy current furnace along a track. At the head of the track, a ram would push a steel ingot onto the track. The ingots would make their way down the track pushed along by the newer ingots. ...

E_D, Popups always have the 8 pixel padding since they were not intended to cover the entire screen. Could you perhaps use another screen as your confirmation screen? When your operator presses the button to confirm their choice on the confirmation screen, you could execute a Navigate Backward command ...

Just to clarify, you can do all your development in View Designer just using the offline acd file configured as the "Logix Project File" in Project Properties. You only need the "HMI to Controller Path" and "Emulator to Controller Path" to test the project using either a physical controller or an emulated ...

Delisle, That looks like a mistake in the manual. The resolution of the 19" PV5510 is 1280x1024. Do you have the publication number and rev of the manual you're using? I can work with our Info Dev people to get that fixed. Regarding sizing of elements on the screen, the trick with the PanelView ...

Splash, To display a tag value along with an engineering unit, you have a few options. You can use a separate numeric display and text display as you mentioned. To keep them aligned, you could right align the numeric display and left align the text display; then they would always be spaced ...

Morley, View Designer uses the Logix acd file for tag browsing when creating or modifying your View Designer project. If View Designer can't find the acd file, it will still allow you to browse tags using the state of the acd file it cached the last time it was able to connect to it. If you're going ...

Patient, The second core is used automatically; there is no option to select/deselect it. A 19" screen can require some additional processing time to render the higher resolution, but that shouldn't be too significant. The additional space available on a 19" screen allows for a lot of graphic elements ...

Sacksith, Can the web browser on your PV5510 reach anything else on your network? For example, try looking at the web page on a controller or ethernet card. I'm not familiar with that specific camera, but I would suggest the following: Connect to the camera with your desktop browser, ...

Phil gave a good explanation about alarms using FactoryTalk View SE through FTLinx. It's even easier when using View Designer and the PanelView 5000. Create your alarm messages in various languages in Logix Designer as Phil explained. Then just use a language switch command in View Designer. The PanelView ...

McKenzie, If I understand correctly, when you acknowledge an alarm on the PanelView 5000, you want to see an indication in your controller that it has been acknowledged, and then use that acknowledged state to execute additional logic. If that is the case, you can monitor the .Acked member of the ...
