Pittman, for the 1734 Point IO counter modules, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle applies - you can get position or you can get speed from the module, but it won't give both simultaneously. It's a cost you pay for this small module. The larger CompactLogix modules can give both if I remember correctly. ...

If the drive is configured as Flux Vector control, knowing these parameters is critical. Having the wrong pole value in the drive will the motor behave in an awful manner; I've got personal experience when I trusted an end user's documentation of the motor nameplate rather than verifying it personally. ...

Kezema, any chance you have a spare main control board to swap in? The intermittent nature makes it sound like a bad solder joint on the J2 pins or associate circuits. You noted this was installed in September 2023. You should engage the distributor who sold the drive - you're well within the 1-year ...

Without hearing the sound, it would be difficult to say. Is it possible to make a good cell-phone video with sound of the noise you're hearing? ------------------------------ TJMcD@BlueOrigin ------------------------------

It looks like you've got everything configured correctly. At this point, we're trying to quantify "high, irritating sound". The two motors ARE different: 1440 RPM / 4 pole vs. 968 RPM / 6 pole. The irritating noise may be a factor of the new motor and new drive and adjusting carrier frequency may ...

You say you installed a new PF525 with a different motor than was used previously for this application. What drive was used previously? What is the motor nameplate data for the new motor, and what is the model of the PF525? ------------------------------ TJMcD@BlueOrigin ----------- ...

Did you adjust all nameplate data when you changed motors? If you went from 2 pair (4 pole) to 3 pair (6 pole), the nameplate base speed value and base frequency value are likely different. Are you sure you're set to V/Hz? If you are set to Sensorless Vector then getting the right nameplate data ...

When you replaced failed modules, did you replace the terminal block bases as well? I've encountered cases where the problem was tied to the base, but had no good explanation why. I'd have expected a short to the 5V point bus to take out all modules in both racks. Not sure why the extension rack ...

Which communication adapter are you using? 1734-AENT, AENTR, ADN, ACNR? What else got damaged in your system? Did you have a weather related event (lighting storm)? Who touched it (if you can discover that)? If someone who didn't know what they were doing touched the rack without your knowledge, ...

Emre, I'm assuming you're using CCW to transfer drive parameters. Rockwell conventions - Rockwell uses the convention that you download TO the drive, and upload FROM the drive. I'm going to use that convention in this reply. The next time it happens, BEFORE you download your good parameter ...

As a counterpoint to GLaDOS, the one time I encountered use of parameters, I found it very difficult to trace the use of any given tag into the program. At the time, I didn't know parameters were being used. Global tags didn't seem to go anywhere, didn't get used, but were changing as if by magic. The ...

Did you also transfer the fonts? Font files are not embedded in the application. PVP terminals have 3 fonts on board by default. If you need something other than those 3 (Arial is one of them), then you must download them separately. ------------------------------ TJ @ Systems Interface ------- ...

The accuracy is -78 to +91 seconds per month, not moment. I'll anticipate your next question - do they mean a 30-day month or a 31-day month? I don' t know the answer to that. Make some assumptions and run the numbers to see if it meets your requirements. Assume it's a 30 day month. There's 2,592,000 ...

The 1734-AENT is not a controller; it is an Ethernet adapter to which you add I/O slices. The 1734-AENT allows a controller to access the I/O attached to it for use in logic programs. Point I/O is intended to be attached to the controller via DeviceNet, ControlNet, or Ethernet protocols. The most ...
