Burch, I haven't done this (on the Engage forum anyway) before, and I hope you don't mind, but I like trying problems with LLM's occasionally and I thought yours was an interesting fit particularly since you provided a corrupt data file as LLM's typically excel when it comes to actual data. So I let ...

Minato, I don't think there is any hard tag limit with the EECM, nor is there one with FactoryTalk Optix which supplies the OPC functionality to the EECM. Obviously though, there will be some practical performance limit, but again I don't think there is any specific numbers to be given here unless ...

BWilken, This is probably the document you need: ControlLogix SIL 2 Applications Generally speaking, changing out the PLC shouldn't be an issue in maintaining a SIL 2 rating, the 1756-L7x are all SIL 2 certified. I think the real concern would be potential IO and wiring configuration changes. The ...

Xie, I don't think you need to delete it, it might be useful to someone else in the future. I would just reply to yourself with the solution and mark your reply as the best answer. ------------------------------ If you answer my questions there will be cake. ------------------------------

Ryan, Factorytalk Design Workbench is intended to be the software for the micro 800 controllers going forward, at least those with ethernet communications, and although I haven't heard this explicitly, I imagine all the 800 models will be sold with ethernet capability eventually anyway. Other models ...

Mahon, The only way to tell if the 1783-NATR is allowing communication is to open the setup and see, you can find the manual for the device here: Configurable NAT Router. I've configured these before, and haven't had any issues although it is important to remember the NAT router will need it's own ...

Patrick, The MAC address is fixed and is assigned at the factory. I don't think there is anyway to overwrite or change the MAC address as it's stored on the hardware not RSLogix software. When you download and go online the RSLogix software should read the hardware address and show whatever it is. ...

Although it's fairly rare that I use (or come across) security setups with PLC files, my understanding was that you could indeed secure Studio 5000 projects even to prevent upload or download of the project files, or at the very least be unable to open the project file thus preventing changes or downloads ...

Emre, Unfortunately, I don't see anything explicitly wrong with your parameter file. However, I did find some technotes which may be helpful. The first technote actually points out a bug that exists in firmware v12 that causes issues with accel and decel times although it's rather vague on what the ...

Splash, I don't handle purchasing of software where I work, so I don't know the actual costs anymore. However, at my last job I did have access to Rockwell's software portal and could see our prices and I think it was about $1500 (annually), but that was a few years ago now. Echo still has limitations ...

Splash, That's a little tough to answer without details of what you need, but you can get a comparison from Rockwell's "Micro800 Programmable Controller Family" document starting on page 3, and frankly to me the main difference between models is IO counts and memory, most everything else is workable. ...

Timmons, Unfortunately, the only technote I found that seemed relevant involves Access Databases which you said you are not using. Patrick, Often old .mer files will have this issue when you try to open them (v5 and back I think), and there is a way to get around this although I can't post it as it obviously involves circumventing Rockwell security. I haven't done this in quite a while so I can't remember if it works with actual ...
