@cordioli Are you using an app password created in your gmail account? This is where I and others have had success. I also used port 587. I was getting an error using port 465.

UPDATE: If I add a space after the separator (, or ;) it will successfully send an email to the second email listed, but not the first. No error / warning is shown in the output, only "Email sent successfully"

Late to the party here. I was able to successfully use Gmail SMTP server as well, but I used SMTP port 587 rather than 465. I got a similar error using port 465. As stated by Riggs, app password was necessary.
