Those are my installed libraries: The error can make sense. The machine libraries normally covers also the one I added. What happens when you right click on the backplane and try to add some things?

@Said Benali I found the solution. you need to dowload IODeviceLibrary_v5.05.01.zip, this can be found on the rockwell pcdc site (https://compatibility.rockwellautomation.com/Pages/home.aspx)

Hi All, I'm having the exact same problem. This must be because some library is misssing I assume. But what library and where to get it? Studio 5000 version 35 is also installeded in the same VM.

Hi Shane, I works. I can now only open one popup. this is huge step :). Now to close all the subpopups when the main got closed. Will the main see the others as children? I can close the children when the main is closing?

I'll make sure to do that. And yes this made it clear. I was creating an extra step thas was not needed. The udt was already there as type. so working directly with the plc tags and the existing type made it easy to pass those with an alias to a popup without a lot of work.
