Interesting, I must've misread the Associated Tag section. I interpreted it as it the associated tag had to match the same data type as the alarm input. Thanks for the help!

Greetings, I am wondering if it is possible to use a string as the Alarm message in the Alarm Manager of Studio 5000 Logix (V35). So far anything I've tried has resulted in '***' to display on the Alarm Page in View Designer (V8).

I haven't looked at that instruction yet, I'll give it a shot! Also, do you know where I can see different expressions and how to use them like the iif() expression used in the technote?
