I have used the Micro 800L50E for communication with Kinetix 5100 and Powerflex 525 drives with implicit messaging commands. I have downloaded the UDFB's from Rockwell and they are great. I recently discovered that the Powerflex 527 can be commanded similarly with Motion Axis commands over a CompactLogix ...

I am controlling a Kinetix 5100 servo using a Micro 850E PLC. I am trying to change the program a bit and I am struggling. Back ground - I have been successful controlling the drive so far. MAM, MAH, MAJ functions all work fine. Each move is a separate function. Enable the drive, execute the move, ...

For some reason that link is not working. It is asking me to sign in but when I do it just bounces back.... Either way I believe that I solved the problem. My default directory was to Onedrive and that has worked in the past. I set up a separate directory that does not write to Onedrive and it seems ...

I am troubleshooting a Micro 850E system that we are building. I saved my files the other day and today when I try to edit the file and re-download I am getting this message. The edit was nothing major (I changed the time value on a timer). I have never seen this error before. Anyone know what it is/means? ...

Not sure if this is a PLC question or a servo drive question. When I downloaded the UDFB's to control the Kinetix 5100 servo drive with the Micro 850e PLC it came with a sample program. In the notes for this program it mentions that before any of the UDFB's are set to true CtrlSts.Active must = ...

When I downloaded the UDFB's to control the Kinetix 5100 servo drive with the Micro 850e PLC it came with a sample program. In the notes for this program it mentions that before MAJ function block is set to true CtrlSts.Active must = 1 or it will cause an instruction error. I added "CtrlSts.Active as ...

Upon further examination I believe that my problem is that the program was initially written for a 4" screen. I don't believe it has anything to do with the version of CCW that I am using. When I initially downloaded the program to the 7" screen it changed it over (there was a screen that asked me to ...

I have updated my CCW to Version 22. How do I go about "converting my older application to an 8.xxx application" The older application works on the new screen but there is a pop up every time it starts saying "2014: Application was designed for a different terminal type and may not appear or ...

I recently downloaded a Panelview 800 program into a T7T screen. I wrote the program in CCW version 21. The latest Panelview firmware available in version 21 is 7. After downloading the program I get a message that says that the screen might not display properly because the firmware is a different version. ...

We have a requirement for a 0-10V pressure transmitter to send a signal to a Micro 850E. Max pressure is 3000 psi = 10V. We are currently using a ProSense SPT25-10-3000D. I would rather use an Allen Bradley product. Does AB make such a thing or some variation?

I was a long time RSLogix 500 user. I was skeptical of the Micro 800 series for a long time but as I am becoming more comfortable with it I see the advantages. The 850E series has high end technology for it's price point. That being said there is one thing that I really miss and I was wondering if there ...

Excellent explanation. Thank you. I am all for organization so this makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the quick responses to both of my naive questions!

I understand. I was not aware that you could change the tag name. That makes more sense. Thanks for the heads up about global timers as well Thanks!

I am using a few timers in my latest Micro 850E program. The system will have multiple programs that each have timers. The designation for the first time is TON_1. In another program I created a timer that (because it is a new program) was also designated TON_1. Other timers in the individual program ...

I have a general question that has always bothered me. Could someone explain the reasoning for "local" variables in the Micro 800 environment? Seems counter intuitive to have to "cut and paste" variables from local to global so that they can be accessed by other programs and/or Panelview. The local variables ...

I have also struggled with connections at times. One small thing is to make sure to turn your WiFi off on your laptop. The computer might still be confused about where to look.

I need to clarify this. The reason that I need the 2 sec (although I could probably shorten this time) is because the signal to my PLC that the door has closed is independent of the signal from the safety relay saying that the system is safe and the drive should have the 24 volts. I am using a 440C-CR30 ...

I thought that I had it figured out but it still glitches from time to time. The STO is armed and then disarmed with a door switch. I wrote logic to reset the fault after the door has closed but I was having issues because even though the PLC got a signal that the door was closed the drive needed ...
