A customer purchased View ME V14 with a view to update various Panelviews but discovered he cannot use V14 on older versions (😖) but then on trying to install older versions seems its not possible to have more that one version at a time so he must uninstall V14 (😣). The guy is very busy & under ...

Thanks again Chris - this is rather confusing ... this water treatment plant needs to integrate with the greater PlantPax standard on the mine, so the EPCM (consultant) sent the SI a bunch of PX blocks to include in the PLC program & the SI thinks it is these PX blocks that have consumed the memory so ...

Thanks for your comments Chris - PlantPax systems are few & far between in our neck of the woods so we're slipping on the learning curve ... learning from hindsight as it were. The SI tells us that before they even attempt any application code it shows 'memory is full' but maybe there's a catch here. ...

We only have 3 options in the software portal .... Kepware Server per Install - Premium Connectivity (Under 10 installs & over 10 installs) & then Kepware Plus (Premium and Plus). So, it seems Kepware Plus would be the correct product to connect 60 (smart) machines to DataMosaix ? Any comments?

Thanks very much Bob - it certainly appears the L81EP is only for really small projects ... with the following configuration in the estimation tool there is literally no memory left for the application program ... in this case a containerized water treatment plant for a mine - HMI - 2715P-T15CD ...

It appears (using the PlantPax Estimation tool) that 83% of the 3MB user memory on the L81EP is consumed by PlantPax resources, so very little memory is left for the application program - could this be true ?

Thanks - the existing ABB 'tension electronics' unit is faulty so customer is asking for an alternative which Rockwell do not have so I was wondering if we can do web tensioning with the new drives using load cell signals (to replace the highlighted components below) or would it have to be a servo system ...

Thanks, you seem to be referring to fixed scanners while in our case the scanner needs to portable so wireless. It appears there are Bluetooth scanners, so we'd need a gateway or access point to go from Bluetooth to Ethernet

Customer has old backups of HMIs created with FT View ME V5 , done on a 32bit computer. The new FactoryTalk V 14 is 64Bit and apparently the databases are totally different so there's tool (TAG import export wizard) to transfer the old 32bit tags to the new 64bit software. However it seems they need ...

So it's a 3ph / 4-wire supply ... 400V phase to phase & 230 V phase to neutral. The voltage recording we did measures each phase relative to neutral so as you can seem all 3 phases drop when the compressors start -

There is no S33 error, so I'll assume the TechNote does not apply. Seems we'll have to cure the volt drop to keep the drive happy

I've asked the customer if they also see an S33 error so will advise. Meantime I'm thinking a better way to cure this is to fix the actual voltage sag so am hoping someone can suggest a cost-effective solution??

We have a customer with a 230 V / 400 V 4-wire supply & the phase voltage is sometimes dipping by about 12% to around 200V. This causes malfunctions on the drive with the following error codes - S22 AC Power loss ; S39 DC Bus Power loss; S55 Velocity Error Any suggestions , we looked at using the ...
