Summary: How can I tell what version a MER file is? How can I tell what version a MER file is? If I get a MER file and dont know what frm version it was made for how can I tell? ##HL40

I got an email from Bob Law (Dr. Devicenet) whom gave a document which describes step by step how to configure the 1734-IB8s and OB8S via PDN to Guardlogix. Very nice. FYI. ##HL38

I know this is not supported by AB, but there is a technote that says technically it is possible. I'm assuming I have to use a Generic Devicenet Safety Module configuration and manually set the Input / Ouput Assembly Instances and size in bytes. Anyone done this? Help. :smileysad: ...

This too is a good option however, the customer really wants a "one touch" solution, a no brainer. As a side note we have this functionality with ADR (auto device recovery) with DeviceNet. We need to have this functionality with Ethernet/IP. If we can do it for the Kinetix 6500's we certainly should ...

The reason is as you guessed is to reduce maintence hassles by being able to easily replace a drive without having to have the skill set to be able to set parameters in the drive. ##HL100

The system will be interconnected with a Stratix 8000 swithc using the DHCP persistancer or DHCP per port feature which allows any device in BootP mode to get auot assigned an IP address if plugged into the same Ethernet ...
