Thanks so much for that explanation. So doing some math 2500 rad/s approx 398 hz and 600 rad/s is approx 95.5 hz. So a 120 hz noise signal on the torque feedback line would be accurately tracked by the encoder based system but not by the encoderless system. if I am understanding this. -- ...

When reading the Specifications for a Powerflex 750 Series Drive it states that in Flux Vector Torque Control Mode the specification is +/- 2% 2500 rads/s bandwidth with an encoder and +/- 5% 600 rads/s bandwidth without an encoder I understand the percent is percent of total base torque. ...

It has been a while and I don't recall how best to do this. Assume I have a machine controlled by a ControlLogix Processor with three ControlNet Cards. Right now the Logix5000 Program is stored as D:\Machine.ACD. and the ControlNet files are D:\Slot5.xc , D:\Slot7.xc and D:\Slot9.xc. ...

Thanks for the technote link fuzzy, but that points to the generic categorical includes and excludes and I have them set to off already and the drives still turn up as different. I've opened a Techconnect Help Desk ticket, but thus far no answer has been found. ------------------------------ Robert ...

In the Logix Designer Compare Tool Manual it mentions the file parser.config and how it can be used to exclude objects from generating a difference. The file itself mentions another Rockwell File ControlLogixStructures.xml which I cannot find a copy of anywhere. The root problem I am trying to ...

Thanks Fuzzy - I wasn't totally sure where to post about OT Networking and Security Stuff, but I'm sure issues around it will be a growing topic. ------------------------------ Robert Lightfoot ------------------------------

Has anyone encountered and solved the issue of running Carbon Black Sevurity Tool along with the Current program updater for Integrated Architecture Builder. Every Time CPU tries to open an *.reg file Carbon Black slams the process because it does not have the reg file in it lsit of approved files. Can ...

Sorry for the side track on this. Could you not have a tag ValueInches which is a DINT and comes from the HMI. And have a tag ValueMM which is a REAL and is used in the PLC Program. And at the start of logic use a CPT ValueInches * 25.4 VauleMM . Or am I missing what you're asking? -- ...

Folks @fuzzy logic is correct. I just attempted to re-create what I described happening on the Logix 5000 Version 19 System where I first encountered this behavior and could not duplicate it. I did see it happen once, and recently, but it must ahve been some other typo of mine. Because in my repeat ...

Fuzzy - I will need to go back online where the processor did this last month but the instruction was something like CPT. TagA * TagB / TagC. DestinationTag. When TagA was a Dint the answer would be an integer even though DestinationTag was a real. If TagA was a real the answer would be a real with no ...

@fuzzy logic glad to know RA updated it for newer versions. It does not work like that in my Version 17 and Version 19 processors. And the reference manual I found explained it just the way I posed. Guess we need to ask @Niklas Flykt what version os Logix 5000 the machine ws programmed in as it appears ...

I'm not sure I totally understand what you ask but I will shed this light on what you're doing. If you use CPT 5/2.00 DestinationRealTag you'll get a value of 2 or 3 in the DestinationRealTag. While if you use CPT 5.00/2.00 DestinationRealTag or CPT 5.00/2 DestinationRealTag you'll get 2.5 in the ...

Finally wrapping back on this. 1. Yes we changed the PLC program to have an EN2T Card in Slot 1. Turns out that the PLC had to be taken from RUN to PRG and back to connect the card to the CPU and get all playing nice. This type of card upgrade could not be done with a "hot swap" approach. ...

Summary: Configuring 1756-EN2T proving problematic I have a 1756-ENBT Card in a 7 slot rack. Tried swapping it to a 1756-EN2T configured identically for ip/subnet/gateway and could not ping it from the very same programming terminal that had beena ble to ping the ENBT. Tried a direct connect cable ...
