I got a new external drive, installed a Win 10 VM on it, install FT View v11 on it, and now intend to do the development on that system. I will then export what I edit to XML, import to my other VM which has FT View v13, and will then be able to test it on my licensed system with Emulate. Thanks for ...

Thanks for the reply. Since I have a development kit license on one of my VMs, if I have another VM with prior versions those won't be licensed. I assume when you point the VM at the host for licensing, you need to do something in FT Activation Manager so that the license is available? ----------- ...

I have a customer with FT View SE v11. My development system has v13. I imported their backup (APB file) into my system, which upgraded their v11 application to v13. How do I make edits and install them on their v11 system? Can I have both a v11 and v13 FT View studio on my development system ? -- ...

Thank you for the responses. I need to make it clear what I am trying to do. I get the customer's archive (APB file) I import that archive into my development system I want to create a copy of the customer's application that will be the working copy. That will allow me to make edits to the working ...

Now the issue is trying to remove the HMI server from the app and import. I see no way to do this. I tried importing without restoring the HMI server, and it doesn't work. What do I need to do to import? ------------------------------ Patrick Dixon[Designation] PE, PMP www.DPAS-INC.com ----- ...

I got my answer in FactoryTalk View Site Edition User's Guide "NOTE: You cannot attach to an existing HMI server that is being used in another application." So now my question is can I have multiple HMI servers in the same server machine with the same license? The objective is to make a duplicate ...

Is it possible to have an HMI server with multiple FT SE applications? It looks like the server can only have one project (application). I tried importing an archive into the same HMI server as another application and it said I would have to remove the HMI server from the application to import. I don't ...

The first step is to ensure the loop is stable without feedforward. In the configuration I designed this is done by setting CL_FF_Gain=0. Then perform some closed loop setpoint changes and observe the stability of the loop. If the loop responds in a stable way to a setpoint change or disturbance (water ...

"because it is added to the PID algorithm output rather than multiplied." It is multiplied in the example I show with CL_FF_Gain "Maybe better explained with aid of diagrams?" I think I already provided those diagrams "if Piotr's dosing pump were replaced with a flow meter and flow control valve, ...

Ratio can work well when your PV is a flow that you want to maintain in proportion to another flow. If CL_Feedback was chlorine flow and SPCascade was water flow, the RatioProg or RatioOper parameter can be used to specify the ratio of chlorine flow to water flow. In order to do this, you need the f ...

When you ask "how to set" assume you are asking how to configure it. You appear to have a case where you have the concentration of chlorine (CL_Feedback) being controlled by regulating flow of chlorine from a variable speed pump (CL_VFD_Pump_Speed). That should work with appropriate PID tuning. However, ...

We looked at the configuration of every 1734, they all match 100 mbps full duplex, same as the ethernet adapter in the processor rack. Therefore, it doesn't look like there are any mismatches. Looking a lot more like it is installation/cabling/hardware. ------------------------------ Patrick Dixon ...

Got got into 2 of the 1734 that seem to be working and confirm DHCP is enabled with 999 switches, but they are rev C. Documentation 1734-UM018F-EN-E - May 2023 page 35 says "The 1734-AENT/C adapter should be configured using only DHCP." Attached are photos of one of the devices. We think there is another ...

We found all thumbwheels on the 1734 are set to 999. That means an invalid value makes it use DHCP for its network address. We don't have a plant network operating yet, so I assume the DHCP server would be the 1756-EN2TR? ------------------------------ Patrick Dixon PE, PMP www.DPAS-INC.com ------ ...
