Thanks Volk for the feedback. I'm not sure if our recommendation applies for the Kollmorgen Motor for the cable length... did you check the Kollmorgen recommendations ? Heavy washdown environment can explain sporadic issues... due to grounding or motor isolation issues due to moistures ... I'm ...

Hello Volk, Would be nice to have the extended fault as well... Most of the time a such fault could be caused by motor power cable insulation issue... check the cables integrity and check if there is grounding differential between the motor and the cabinet or short, Check also all the motor cable ...

Did you trend the DN, IN, PC bit of the instruction and the status of the axis ? that's a good way to track an issue. PC bit is persistent and automatically cleared when the EN is detected . so maybe in your code you have not considered that. Sometime it is good to clear the PC manually if you use ...

Hi Hogue , you may have a problem in the timing sequence , I have seen that already. Like asked you Batman did the move have been executed ? it's an important information. Could you share a screenshot of the code that is concerned that will help to see if there is sequencing issue type of task ...

Hello Fulk , Very good news !!! It was clear that the servo was ok since you was able to run when the motor was disconnected from the machine load 😊 But this is Very interesting ! what is that cylinder ? we was missing an information about the system transmission ? something external was ...

Thanks for the feedback ChristopherHolz If you have no information's in Logix , the Drive is in phase 4 , the sercos card is in phase 4 and No fault detected on the system (Logix). On top of that you have one of the replacement drives that works. I think that is reasonable to says that you have an issue ...

Humm strange, because if you are in Sercos Phase 4 you should be good Did you check if the HW series and FW on the drives that are not providing the Contactor enable ? What is the status of the Drive in Logix SW ? regards Vincent ------------------------------ Vincent BOURRELLY Senior Technology ...

So the motor was running fine when disconnected from the load correct. Good feedback thx So could be multiple issue Electrical potential issue between machine and Motor/Cabinet (grounding) . Measure if there is a difference and how much. Tuning : I would recommend you go with out off the box setting ...

Hi Fran without feedback data analysis (RSSI) hard to tell if the Encoder have a problem .(like requested by Batman) Have you tried with the motor disconnected from the mechanism, on the side with a new cable ? this type of Krak Krak Krak motor sound (like stones in the gearbox) is very typical ...

Hi ChristopherHolz what is the sercos Status when you are expecting the contactor ? are you in phase 4 ? Have you check on the back of the drive if there is a pin bended or broken ... Did you have a look on the Rockwell Knowledge base ? it is always the 1st place to got ;) regards ----- ...

Hi Fulk This looks very much like a grounding issue. But did you check or swap the Motor ? Like said Batman, the RSSI is the first thing to check. Then check all the drive, Cable and motor ground connection (common) . Look also at the 24v noise (if possible when the issue occurs) Did you measure ...

Hi XIC Yes you can simulate this encoder with a virtual axis without problem and also the Axis that follow the virtual axis. You just need to declare the axis as Virtual (latter you can switch to physical) But think that you can also simulate all the axis with FT Logix Echo software FactoryTalk Logix ...

Hello Austin if you have a constant speed of the axis that you monitor, the difference between the 1st or 2nd order interpolation will be negligible. If the axis is very dynamic them some validation must be conducted to check the best results. Regarding the Trigger for the event task , yes it's ...

Thanks Austin for the feedback. Indeed in your case the SSV will provide better results. Keep in mind that the SSV solution will provide you a position that will be interpolated from 2 position update at coarse update period. The interpolation is done with a 2nd order interpolator, not a 3rd order ...
